A Personal Support Worker (PSW) is a Canadian health care worker that provides care to those that are not fully able to care for themselves. This includes seniors, individuals with physical disabilities, and individuals with mental disabilities, amongst others. Personal Support Workers are currently in high demand, and PSW jobs are expected to continue to increase within the next 10 years. Homes for the aged, retirement and nursing homes, and community agencies are constantly hiring Personal Support Workers as the needs increase. A Personal Support Worker is responsible for many duties which may include, assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, grocery shopping, dietary planning, and food and fluid intake. Observing and reporting clinical and treatment information, and behavioral changes also are a responsibility of a Personal Support Worker. The Training Center, Georgina Trades Training Inc. is running another Personal Support Worker Session starting on February 14th2011. Registration night is on January 31st2011. Call The Training Center for more information. |
