Today

Skills Training Centre is our local facility in Sutton, which hosts digitally-equipped instructional spaces, administrative offices, a multi-purpose shop area, and advanced technologies for learning. Many of our courses are taught within the building, which offers a computer lab, access to high speed Internet, a welding suite, forklift training, facilities for small engines repair, carpentry and much more.

Where We Began – 2007

In 2007 GTTI began renovations to an old grocery store on Baseline Road in Sutton West, Ontario, in order to create a training facility that would be available to the public. The building was renovated to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Many green products were used, including specialized insulating paints, solar hot water tanks, dual flush toilets, an upgraded boiler, low flow hands-free faucets, and radiant floor heating. The floor itself is environmentally-friendly epoxy flooring, which is highly reflective, and therefore reduces required lighting by 15%.

2015

In November 2015, GTTI helped install an industrial training kitchen in the Town of Georgina’s new facility called The Link. This additional space will be used by us for culinary training and food-related programming.

2017

In March 2017, We refreshed our entire Technology Systems. With the help from Mackenzie Technology Solutions and the generous support from BMO Green for Good, South Lake Community Futures, CompuGen, TechSoup and Microsoft we replaced our entire Computer Lab with the latest hardware and software, creating a Virtual Desktop Environment and centralized instructor led computer system allowing instructors to control and aid student computers in real-time from one station.
